Marraskuun projekti

Marraskuun paketista paljastui Fabelin yksivärinen lanka, mutta päätin, että haluan käyttää kyseisen langan monimutkaisempaan palmikkoon, jossa se pääsee oikeuksiinsa. Ohje vielä hakusessa, vaikka sukat aloitinkin jo. :)
Kuukauden ohjeelle (Regency) valitsin sitten Hjertegarnin Strømpegarn jacquardin.

In march package was hidden some unicolor Fabel which Ib decided to use for some intricate cable pattern that will compliment each other. Still looking for the right pattern, though, started the socks yesterday. :)
For this months pattern (Regency) I chose Hjertegarns strømpegarn jacquard.



Hieman alkaa tuntua flunssan alkua ja kurkunkarheutta, niin laitoinpa pitkästä aikaa ihan oman villitee-sekoituksen. Mukana mm. apilaa, kehäkukkaa ja fermentoituja metsämansikan lehtiä kera voikukkasiirapin, nams!

Starting to feel a little bit like flu so made my own wild tea mix including calendula, fermented wild strawberry leaves, etc. With dandelion syrup, yum!

Alkuvuoden sukat

Olenhan tässä parina kuukautena saanut jopa tehtyä sukkia, olen vain unohtanut laittaa ne tänne. :P

I've actually got socks done these two months I've just forgotten to put then here. :P

Tammikuun sukista tuli varsin keväiset Hornetit.

The january socks came to be quite springish Hornets.

I also finished same/diff pair socks from last year.

Ja ylimääräisenä tein rinnalla ensimmäiset valepalmikkosukat. Lankana hyvin marinoitunut Zitron Trekking Hand Art, puikot 2,5 ja kantana the banded expanded heel taasen.

As extra I made my first mock lace cable socks. Well marinaded yarn Zitron Trekking Hand Art, 2,5 needles and the banded expanded heel again.

Ja koska helmikuu..

Helmikuu alkoi ja sen mukana helmikuun sukat!

February started and with it the february socks!

Tällaista tällä kertaa ja tämähän aivan huusi suklaa päälysteisiä palmikoita, joten kahdesta ohjeesta nämä olivat sopivammat.

This time the yarn actually screamed for chocolate covered cables so decided to do those for this month from the two options.

Hiihii, vihdoin sai avata!
Eli omasta varastosta sukkalangat yhteisneulontaan, joka tietää 12 paria sukkia tänä vuonna.
Ihan hauskaa vaihtelua. :)
Harakanvarpaiden takaa paljastui tälle kuulle tämmöistä ja mallina Hornet-sukat.

Välillä täälläkin ilmestyy

Menihän tässä lähes vuosi edellisestä kirjoituksesta.
Hyvin suurelta osin, kun en päässyt puhelimella  edes kirjoituksia lukemaan. Vähän söi omaakin kirjoitusintoa, vaikka tottakai tässä on paljon muutakin ollut elämässä. :P

Näpertely ollut koko ajan läsnä ja jonkin verran matkusteluakin. Juuri katselin, että ainakin lankavarasto kaipaa päivitystä, samoin kirjat. Noh pikku hiljaa!

Nyt jatkan tämän hetkisen innostuksen (lue lankavaraston tyhjennysprojektin kanssa), haarukkapitsin! :)

Mango-meloonia

Jälleen voitto! Tavallaan.

Another success! Sort of.

Kaikki tietävät sen ihanan kellertävän, pieniä pureskeltavia paloja sisältävän jäätelön jäätelökioskeista. Tottakai sitä oli itse kokeiltava!

Everyone knows (at least in Finland) the wonderful yellowish
ice cream with fruit bits from the ice cream kiosks. Ofcourse we had to try it ourselves!

Ja kuten aina, ensimmäisenä oli taasen reseptin metsästystä. Lopulta tämä (*) resepti vaikutti parhaalta vaihtoehdolta tähän.

And like always, first it was time to searh for the perfect recipe. In the end this (*) seemed to be the best for this.

Eli miten me teimme.
So what we did.

1 mango
1 cantaloupe meloni
400ml kermaa/ cream (36%)
150g sokeria/ sugar
3 keltuaista/ yolks
45ml sokeria ja liraus vettä/ sugar and a splash of water

Teimme aivan ohjeen mukaan, hedelmää jätimme pois blenderistä yhteensä n. desin verran puruvaraksi, jonka lisäsimme soseeseen kaiken muun yhteydessä.

We did exactly according to the recipe, we left out of the blender about 1dl of fruit for those bits which we put in the puree with everything else.

Ja siinä vaiheessa hoksasimme erään pienen jutun... Hedelmäsose sisältää paljon enemmän nestettä kuin tuoreet mansikat, eli sose olisi pitänyt hieman valuttaa!
Noh, tässä vaiheessa ei enää ollut mitään tehtävissä, joten päädyimme kikka kolmoseen ennen koneen käyttöön ottoa, pakastimme koko massa puoli tuntia ennen koneeseen laittoa!

And at this point we noticed one small detail...
The fruit puree contains much more fluid than the fresh strawberries so we should have them drained a bit first!
Well, couldn't do much at that time so we decided to do a small trick and to put the custard in the freezer for half an hour before pouring it in the ice cream maker!

Valitettavasti jäätelö päätyi taasen  pakkaseen yöksi ja saimme kuolata jälleen kerran vuorokauden pidempään. :D

Unfortunately the ice cream ended up in the freezer for the night, again, and we had to keep on drooling for one day longer. :D

Mutta jälleen kerran jäätelö oli mitä parhainta ja ihanan raikasta!

And yet again the ice cream was suberb and wonderfully fresh tasting!

Ja jos mietitte mitä tapahtui alussa mainostetulle kellertävälle värille, niin ullathus! Cantaloupe olikin vaalea/ vihertävä lihainen, vaikka olimme olettaneet, että tottakai se on oranssi. :D

And if you were wondering what happened to the yellowish color, the surprise! Cantaloupe was light/ greenish fruit when we had waited for it to be for sure orange color. :D

Cocococococonut

Koska on kesä, niin tottakai jäätelö kuuluu kesään. Sitä suuremmalla syyllä kun on kesäloma!
Nyt vanhempien luona ollessa päätimmekin kokeilla erilaisia jäätelöitä tehdä itse.

Because it's summer and ofcourse ice cream is part of summer. The more when on summervacation!
Now while at parents we decided to make different ice creams by ourselves.

Ensimmäisenä oli kookosjäätelö.
Ei mennyt aivan kuten Strömsössä, syynä saattoi mahdollisesti olla rankan käden soveltaminen, mutta oli se vaan hyvää!

First we made coconut ice cream.
It didn't go like in Strömsö, might have been really huge improvisations, but is was just so good!

Kookosjäätelö

2,4dl/ 1 cup kuohukermaa/heavy cream
2,4dl/ 1 cup / half and half
1,2dl/ 1/2 cup kookosmaito/ coconut milk
4,4dl/ 15oz kookoskerma/ coconut cream
1/8 tl/ tsp suola/ salt
~3/4dl sokeri/ sugar
4cm vaniljatanko/ vanillabean

Ja tässä alkoi soveltaminen todella!

And here is where the improvisation really started!

Koska halusimme pureskeltavaa, meillä oli tuore kookospähkinä, josta kaavimme hedelmänlihan ja pilkoimme pieniksi. Totesimme, että tuoreeltaan oli turhankin pureskeltavaa, joten laitoimme kaikki aineet kattilaan, kookosta reilun desin verran ja keitimme hiukan. Kerran annoin lopuksi kiehahtaa, jonka jälkeen annoin jäähtyä pari-kolme tuntia. Vaniljatanko siis oli mukana kiehautuksessa, mutta ei puolitettuna ja poistin tangon ennen jäähdyttämistä.
Jäähdyttämisen jälkeen jäätelökoneeseen ja toivottavasti voilá!
Meillä ei näin aivan käynnyt, joten oli vielä yön yli pakkasessa.

And because we wanted somehing to chew we had a coconut where we got all the fruity bits from. We thought that the coconut was a bit too chewy so we  put all the ingredients to a kettle and let it simmer a bit. In the end I brouhgt it to a boil and let it cool for two to three hours after that.
So the vanillabean was in the custard when heating it, not in halves, but I removed it before letting it cool.
And after the custard is cool, put the mixture in your ice cream maker and hopefully, voilá!
We didn't have this so the ice cream spent the next night in the .

Ja nyt kun olen lukenut ja kirjannut ohjeen ylös huomasin myöskin virheeni! Epähuomiossa korvasin lähes kaiken kerman täysmaidolla, joten ihmekös tuo. :D
Jäätelössä on myös käytetty kookospähkinästä saatu kookosvesi.

And now that I have read and written the recipe I found the mistake I made. In a mistake I substituted nearly all cream with full milk so no wonder it didn't go so easy. :D
The coconutwater from the coconut was also used in the ice cream.

Ja kaikesta huolimatta, jäätelö oli taivaallista tuoreisen vadelmien ja mustikoiden kanssa ;)

And despite all, the ice cream was heavenly with fresh raspberrys and blueberrys. ;)

Värisatoa

Viime aikoina on tekemiset olleet hyvin vähäisiä, ainakin käsitöiden suhteen. Tässä välissä on tullut käytyä Berliinissä viettämässä pitkä viikonloppu, mikä mukavasti arjenkin katkaisi. Mitään valmista ei ole tullut, vähän sitä sun tätä on tullut aloiteltua kylläkin.
Lähinnä viimeinen puoli vuotinen on mennyt taistellessa vaikeaa väsymystä vastaan. Huomenissa pitäisi saada tuloksia ja toisista labroista, joten toivottavasti syykin selviäisi lähitulevaisuudessa.

Past times I've been doing very little anything, at least when talking about handicrafts. In the meanwhile we've visited Berlin, which was nice break from the everyday life.
Haven't finished anyhing but have been starting this and that.
The past half a year has more or less gone by while fighting against severe tiredness. Tomorrow I should get the resulta from my second lab tests and hopefully some reason will be found.

Mutta koska Suomessa perinteisesti keskikesä on väriloiston ja juhannustaikojen aikaa, päätimme äidin kanssa pyhittää viikonlopun värjäilylle ja sen suomalle hermolomalle.
Tässä lopputuloksia omasta saaliistani ja hirmuisen tyytyväinen olen!

And because traditionally in Finland midsummer is time of flamboyance and midsummerspells me and mom decided to dedicate the weekend for dyeing and nerveleave.
Here are the results from my dyeings and I'm really satisfied!

Koska viikko sitten oli uffilla euron päivät, niin nyt on sitten ihanaa lankaa joka ei ole ainakaan hinnalla pilattu!
100% merinoa pesuohjeen mukaan ja kykenin näkemään tämän jo paidan muodossa uutena, hienona ja, ah, niin ihanan pehmoisena haapsalunhuivina!
Ja vain koska olen sen verran hullu ja kykeneväinen. x)

And because a week before uff had their 1euro day I now have gorgeous yarn that isn't spoiled with price!
100% merino according to the washing instructions and I could already see this as my new, lovely and, ah, so soft haapsalu shawl when in shirt form!
And only because I'm crazy enough and able to. x)

Sukkia, sukkia, sukkia!

Puuh, kirjoitus ollut luonnos asteella nyt kolmisen viikkoa. Kuvia ei saa ladattua kännykästä ja kun saa, niin ovat aivan miten päin sattuu. Picasan appi ei auta yhtään, dropbox vielä vähemmän ja ainoastaan koneella saa kuvat muokattua edes johonkin järjestykseen!
Ei ole helppoa tämä elo. :P

Sigh, this text has been in draft state for three weeks now. Can't upload pictures from cell and when I get them uploaded they tend to be what ever way they can. Picasa app doesn't help at all, dropbox even less and only behind computer the pictures can be organized at all!
Not so easy living. :P

Äitini ei niinkään osaa sukkia neuloa ja on arvostanut aina kovin kun olen hänelle sukkaparin antanut, niin otinkin tavoitteeksi 12 sukkaparia!

Mom doens't really know how to make socks and she has always liked the socks I've given her.So I decided to make her 12 pairs! :D

Aivan en tavoitteeseen päässyt, 6 paria sain valmiiksi ja yhdet vielä jalkaterää vailla.Tein nyt myöskin ensimmäistä kertaa vuosiin sukkia alkaen varresta eikä se ollutkaan yhtään niin kamalaa kuin muistin! :) Varsinkin kun jokaisessa sukkaparissa on erilainen kantapää!

I didn't exactly get there, made 6 pairs and one pair is still in need of feet. I also made socks leg down first time in years and it wasn't as horrible as I remembered! :) Especially when every pair has a different heel!

Nalle krassi näissä. Käytin kantakiilaan ja kantapäähän ohjetta The Mistress of Donwell Abbey Socks Jane Austen knits fall 2012 lehdestä. Tein kiilassa pienet palmikot.

 Gjestal Janne, tiimalasikantapää ja mallikerta lainattu näistä rannekkeista. Menekki 69g.

Gjestal Janne, ymmärtämäni mukaan perinteinen sukkamalli, käytin itse täältä löytämääni ohjetta.
Kantapää ranskalaista mallia ja vaikutti varsin mukavasti istuvalta! Menekki 94g.

 The heel is french and it seems to fit really well! Took 94g yarn.

Nämä olivat vain niin jännät, että oli aivan pakko tehdä, vaikka aika olikin kortilla! Ohjeen löysin käspaikasta ja lisäilin hieman lyhennettyjä kerroksia nilkan kohdalle, jotta sukan suu pysyisi edes hiukan suoremmassa linjassa. Nirkkoreunalla ja tadaa, aivan selkeät unisukat!

Näissäkin lankana Gjestal Janne ja menekki 86g.

These were so weird that I had to do these even if were really running out of time! The pattern for these I found in Käspaikka and made few short rows in the ankle to the socks would be even a little bit more straight. Made picot edge and tadaa, these are most sertainly sleeping socks!

In these too I used Gjestal Janne and in all these took 86g yarn.

Seitsemännet sukat on myös aloitettu ja näistä tulee ihan nilkkasukat. Lankana Tigerin Strompegarn.

The seventh pair has been started and these will be just anklet socks. The yarn is Tiger Strompegar.

Ja nyt on pakko julkaista ilman viimeisiä aikomiani kuvia kun ei vaan pelit ja vehkeet toimi, pöh!
Toivottavasti seuraavasta tulee toimivampi päivitys. :P

And now I just have to publish without the last pictures I had in mind because things just don't work, bah! Hopefully the next one will be more working update. :P

Pinkki pipa

Kuten edellisessä postauksessa kerroin, poikaystävän äiti toivoi itselleen vaaleanpunaista pipoa ja virkaten. Päänympäryskin hiukkasen suurempi, hänellä kun on muhkea hiuspehko ja kaikki pitää mahtua alle.
Ei siis ollutkaan ihan yhden illan juttu, varsinkin kun lankana Novitan Wool, kaksinkertaisena tosin.
Lankakin sitten loppui kesken ja tietenkin oli väri vanhaa valikoimaa, eli jatkoinpa sitten Nallella. Tein hiukan raidallista, jotta jotain kivaa nasumaisuutta olisi pipossa. :)
Reunassa on rapuvirkkausta.

Sekä pipo että huivi olivat onneksi mieleisiä! :)

Like I told in the previous post boyfriends mother asked a pink crocheted hat from me.
The circuit of the head is a bit bigger too, she has so voluminous hair and needs to fit in.
So not a one night project especially when tho choice of yarn was Novitas Wool, doubled in anyways. I even ran out of yarn and ofcourse the color was from old selection so I continued with Nalle.
Made it a bit stripy so the hat would have at least some resemblance to Piglet. :)
There's some crab crochet in the hem.

Both the hat and the shawl were luckily well liked! :)

Pretty in Pink

Poikaystäväni äiti kysyi, josko voisin virkata hänelle samanmoisen pipon kuin kullalle tein ja lupauduin.
Tämä nyt ei kuitenkaan ole pipo vaikka läheltä liippaa, teino pipoon sopivan huivin sekä kiitokseksi hiusten leikkuusta että syntymäpäivälahjaksi.
Boyfriends mother asked if I could make her similar crocheted hat that I made for bf and I said sure.
This isn't exactly the hat but a shawl I made to match the hat  as a thanks for cutting my hair and a birthday gift.
Eilen kävimme myös katselemassa Cirque du Soleilia, upea esitys, vaikka paikat eivät olleetkaan aivan parhaat. :)
We also went to see Cirque du Soleil last night, show waa great even if the places weren't the best. :)
Nyt pysyttelen sisällä parantelemassa flunssaa tämän kauniin päivän.
Now I'll stay inside on this beautiful day to get rid of this flu.

Huivi vironvillasta

Sain tuon jo viime sunnuntaina valmiiksi, mallina tämä seriously simple shawl ja reuna ommellen päätelty. Sen vuoksi vähän rullautuu tuo reuna, muttei onneksi haittaa. :)
Kokoa on sen verran, ettei voi oikein kaulalla käyttää takin kanssa, mutta sitäkin paremmin soveltuu käyttöön boleron sijasta!

I got it finished already last sunday, pattern is this and the bind off has been sewn. Because of that the edge curls a bit but it doesn't matter. :)
The shawl is so big that it's difficult to use around the neck with jacket but it's even better used instead of a bolero!

Treenikassi

Aloittelen juuri salilla käyntiä, eikä kaupoista löydy kuin aivan jättimäisiä kasseja tähän tarkoitukseen.
Tein siis itse! Ja kierrättäen. ;)
Laukkuun meni parit farkut ja vetoketju(ainut uusi osa) ja sisälle mahtuu hyvin kengät, salivaatteet, pieni pyyhe ja juomapullo.
Vetoketju on vielä hiukan hassusti, joten täytyy katsoa, jos sen vielä jossain vaiheessa laitan uusiksi.

I have started to go to gym and haven't had a bag for my things and most of the bags they sell at the shops are huge.
So I made one myself! And recycled. ;)
The bag took two pair of jeans and a zipper (the only new part) and fits sneakers, gym clothes, a small towel and a bottle.
The zipper is still a bit akward and have to see if I'll sew it again some time.

Huopahärdelli ohi!

Nyt on selvitty huovutuspäivästä kavereiden kanssa!
Kaikki olivat hyvin otettuja päivästä ja vaikka tilaisuuden aikaan kiittelinkin kaikkia siitä, miten mukavaa on aiheuttaa kaikille angstia ja ahdistusta, niin kaikki saivat päivästä jotain käyttökelpoista ja saivat kokeilla heille uutta tekniikkaa. :)
Oli jopa puhetta, että myöhemmin uudella teemalla taas!
Muita opettaessa sain myös omat lapaseni tehtyä.
Harmi, että yksinkertaisen huovan läpi kuultaa alemman huovan väri.

I have survived from felting day with my friends!
Everyone liked it really much and even when I thanked everyone for the opportunity to cause them stress and anxiety, everybody got something they could use and got to try out a new technique. :)
We even talked about a new similar day with different theme!
While teaching others I got do my own mittens too.
Too bad the color from the felt under is a bit visible when there's just one layer of felt.

Esimerkkiä huovasta

Järjestelen tuossa tulevana lauantaina kavereille "huopahärdelliä", jossa suurin osa pääsee kokeilemaan ensimmäistä kertaa elämässään niin neula- kuin  märkähuovutustakin.
Suuriosa myöskin halusi tehdä lapasia, pitihän sitä kokeilla, että suuren käsityölehden ohje ja kaava olisi täysin toimiva!

I'm organizing a felting thing for my buddies the following saturday where most get to try both needle and wet felting for the first time in their life.
Most of them also wanted to make mittens so I had to check the pattern and instructions were working properly (from suuri käsityö magazine).

Saippuaa!

Tämä on nyt ensimmäinen tulevista pikapäivityksistäni.
Syy on ihan yksinkertaisesti se, että haluan ihan itsenikin takia arkistoida mitä kaikkea tapahtuu, mutta elämä on liian kiireistä ja itse liian väsynyt vääntääkseni enää entisenlaisia päivityksiä.
Hyvä puhelin on nykyään aina mukana erilaisine omninaisuuksineen kun taas koneella enää harvoin jaksan laskuja enempää viettää aikaa.
Näin siis yritetään jatkossa ja toivottavasti päivitystahtikin pysyisi parempana! :)

This is the first forthcoming quick updates I'm about to start doing from now on.
The reason is simply that I like blogging and having some kind of archive of thinds that I've done but life has become too busy and I have become too tired to do the likes of updates I used to.
Nowadays I always have a good cell with me with different features and I just don't feel like spending time on computer more than paying bills.
So this is what I'll be trying in the future and hopefully even updates will be coming more frequent! :)

Two batches of teasoap, the other has the smell oh honeysuckle (something I brought from London) and the other is mint with fresh mint leaves!
The batch I made last night thickened bit too fast but the smell is amazing!

Oh how time has gone by yet again!

Aika paljon kyllä saanut aikaiseksikin. Ja kuvia tulee varsin paljon. :D

I've actually done quite a bit. And there will be loads of pictures. :D

Ensinnäkin viimeeksi näytetty täkki on tottakai tullut valmiiksi jo aikoja sitten. Myös varmaan sen viitisen vuotta kesken ollut isoäidinneliötäkki alkaa pian olla vain viimeistelyä vaille. :)

First of the blanket I showed last time was finished ages a go. Also another blanket that has been about five years wip is soon going to be ready. :)

Nekin on vihdoin valmiina! Ja käytössäkin. :D
Nämäkin taisin aloittaa joskus pari vuotta sitten kavereiden kanssa illanistujaisissa ja vanhassa blogissa oli kuvakin näistä järjettömän kokoisina. :)
Virkkasin raakileiden pohjaan hiukan lisää pehmustetta, jotta ei olisi niin kovat kävellä töissä päivät. Päädyin lopulta kiinnittämään pohjaan vielä nahkapalat, jottei ihanainen villa kulu niin kovin vauhdilla puhki. Nahkan päälle laitoin vielä liukuestelateksia, joka näköjään ei ollutkana niin hyvä idea, kuoriutuivat irti ensimmäisten päivien aikana. :)
Mukavat käyttää kylläkin!

They are also finished finally! And in use. :D
These too I started about two years back at friends when we hooked all up there for some talk and food. There even were a pic of these in my old blog when these were insanely huge. :)
I crotcheted some padding to the bottom so they wouldn't be that hard to walk at work all day.
I ended up to attach leather to the bottom so the lovely wool wouldn't wear that quickly. On the leather I used ABS latex that didn't seem to be such good idea for it peeled of during the first day. :)
These are in any case comfortable to use!

Ensimmäistä suunnitelmaa liivistä ja siihen käytettävistä langoista.
Päädyin lopulta pelkkiin vihreisiin sävyihin ja sitä varten piti pari uutta kerää ostaa.
Aloitin liivin tällä ohjeella ja heti silloin päätin, että teen pyöreänä ja en tee tuollaista kaarroketta siihen. Sitten päätin tehdä palmikoita, ettei neulominen olisi niin tylsää. Sitten totesinkin jo, ettei tuossa ihan hirveästi enää olekaan valitusta ohjeesta. :D

About the vest..
First drafting of the vest and the yarn I intended to use for it.
In the end I decided to use only greens and I had to buy few new skeins for it.
I started the vest with this pattern and decided to make it in wound and that I wouldn't do the yoke. Then I decided to add the cables so it wouldn't be that boring to knit. And then I figured out that there really isn't so much from the original pattern. :D

Neulekone!

Knitting machine!

Myyjän mukaan kone on ollut todella pienellä käytöllä, eli ihan vain muutamia sukkia ja pari villapaitaa tehty. Koneella kuulosti olevan ikää jo hiukan enemmän, mutta silti varsin hienossa kunnossa. Itse en ole koskaan edes käyttänyt  neulekonetta, vaikka olisi yläasteella ollutkin sellainen mahdollisuus, joten aivan innoissani olenkin, vaikka ensimmäisessä kokeilutilkussa hiukan meinasikin hermot mennä.

According to the seller the machine has been in very little use, aka just few socks and sweaters has been done. It sounded like the machine had already some age but still in a great shape. I have never used a knitting machine even when I could have in the higher grades so I'm really excited even if I nearly lost my patience with my first swatch.

Thank goodness there are some videos for the likes of me! ^^

Ja saippuaa!

And soap!

Innostuin vihdoinkin kokeilemaan saippuaa kun löysin lipeääkin! Ja kokeilin ja kokeilin ja kokeilin. :D
Ensimmäisenä kokeiluna oli ylemmät sekametelisopat, Calendulaa ja hunaja-kanelia.
Vasemmalla alhaalla olutsaippuaa, kermasaippuaa ja olut-munasaippuaa. Oikealla ruususaippuaa kera eteerisenöljyn, itse tehdyn ruusuveden ja ruususuolan, alempi on lime-kookoskokeilua!

Ja heti on pakko myöntää, ettei taasen mennyt kuin strömsössä.. :D
Ensinnäkin kun niin innokkaasti halusin sitä kermasaippuaa kokeilla (kaikkialla nähdyistä varotteluista huolimatta), niin kun tuo ei oikein meinannut muodostaa sitä kunnollista jämäkkää kiisseliä. Noh, minähän lisäsin sitten tietenkin vettä ja lipeää, eikä silti jämäköitynyt kunnolla. Saippuoitui kyllä hienosti kaikesta huolimatta, vaikka en kyllä tiedä uskaltaako tuota kovinkaan käyttää lopulta.. :D
Ruususaippuassa kävi sama kuin Calendulan kanssa, ostettu punainen saippua väri ei niin millään sulanut, vaikka sitä miten käsitteli ohjeidenkin mukaisesti, vaan jäi varsin rumiksi punaisiksi täpliksi sinne tänne.
Ja sitten vielä kookos-lime..
Siinä kävi parikin virhettä.. :D
Ensinnäkin käytin limemehua. Enkä tosiaankaan tullut edes ajatelleeksi, että limehän on hapan kun taas lipeä on se väkevä emäs. Nooooooooh, nesteeseen (mehuun) sekoittamisen jälkeen sitten vasta tämän hoksasin, joten lisäsin hieman lisää lipeää. Sen jälkeen hoksasin vasta, että kookosmaito menee varsin ikävän näköiseksi kun lämmössä pääsee juoksettumaan... :D
Noh, omaan käyttöön ja kokeilun ilosta nämä tulikin tehtyä ja virheistä oppii. :)
Uutukaiset suklaa-, kerma- ja kerma-suklaasaippuat ovat myöskin kypsymässä, näistä vain en ole muistanut kuvaa napata. :)

I finally got carried away trying to make soap now that I actually found some lye. And I tried and tried and tried. :D
First ones are the mixed ones above, Calendula and honey-cinnamon.
Lower left there's beer soap, cream soapa and beer-egg soap. On the right there's rose soap with Primrose oil, self made rose water and rose salt. The lower one is coconut-lime soap!

And then have to admit that everything didn't go like it should have.. :D
Firstly I wanted to try out cream soap eagerly (even though everywhere people kept warning about it) so it didn't at first turn in to nice thick custard. And then I added some water and lye and it didn't still turn nice and thick. In any case it did turn nicely in to soap but I'm not sure if it's that usable in the end.. :D
With the rose soap happened the same as with the Calendula one, bought red color didn't melt in any way, even when I used just as the instructions told to use it, but it became uggly red spots here and there.
And then the coconut-lime..
There happened two mistakes.. :D
First of all I used limejuice. And I honestly didn't think of it that lime is acidic and lye is highly alkaline. Oh well, after I had mixed the lye in the liquid (juice) it dawned to me so added some more lye. And then it dawned to me that coconutmilk gets quite uggly when it curdles in the heat lye makes... :D
Well, in any way these were made just for own use and for fun and hopefully I'll learn from my mistakes. :)
New chocolate-, cream- and cream-chocolate soaps are also maturing just haven't remembered to take a picture of them. :)

Verhot! Murheenkryynikankaasta. Onneksi ne on sen verran kivat (omasta mielestäni), että olivat kaiken vaivan arvoiset. :>

And then some sewing.
Curtains! From misfortunate fabric. Fortunately these are so nice (in my oppinnion) that these were worth all the trouble. :>

Täällä myöskin oleilee selvästikin kamikaze lintuja!
Ensin ilmaantui vasemman puoleinen jälki ikkunaan työpäivän aikana ja viikon sisään vielä oikean puoleinenkin jälki.  :D
Mikähän lie ollut syy näillekin törmäyksille kun verhotkin näyttävät tiiliseinältä.

Tällä hetkellä olisi kova hinku tehdä tilkkutöitä. Siihen ei vain ole kovinkaan suuria mahdollisuuksia nyt, joten haaveilen, suunnittelen ja työstän valmiiksi blokkien kaavaimia neuleiden ja virkkailujen ohessa!

At the moment I have a huge urge to do quilts. I just don't have that much opportunityfor that now so I'll be dreaming, planning and drawing ready some block patterns during knitting and crocheting!
